On motherhood - so far...




So far, this is my little girl's favourite song. It has a lullaby rhythm, but the story is pretty sad...

Some thoughts after almost two months of motherhood:

I know it's not always a choice, but it would be much better to become parents at a younger age than I did (I am 39). I can't complain about my recovery, which was pretty fast, but a younger woman would have much more energy to face sleepless nights and endless days - and visitors when it would be a great time to have a nap!

What I like about my little queen is that she may cry and scream, but once her need is met, she forgets all that has been and passes on to the next fun thing (usually a careful observation of her own hands). May be there's a lesson there: don't dwell on what upsets you, but forget it and go on to the next good thing.

There's nothing as beautiful as seeing her smile when she wakes up in the morning...

Taking Stock

  After a long hiatus, I decided to start writing again... I don't expect anyone to really be reading, but I just love so much going through my old entries, it's a sort of treasured diary. The image above was taken on April 25th (bank holiday here), during our bike ride at the Aqueducts park in Rome. Such a beautiful day! So much has changed since last time I wrote here, I don't know where to start. So I start by taking stock! Making:  eggplant pesto. As requested by my girl, who loved it last summer. I stopped doing it during the winter, as eggplant were not so good, but husband found some nice ones and as I write they are in the oven. Drinking : water and more water. The sparkling one, thanks! Watching : videos (youtube and instagram) on home and food organizing, fitness, and, of course, makeup. Love Love Love Johnny Ross ! Reading : Minimalism , by Gwyneth Snow. Will need to start applying the suggestions, though! Enjoying : working from home 3 days a week. Makes me even

BDIB - Arm Party!

  This is my second time participating in the Bloggers Do it better series.  This time, the theme is " Arm Party ". And I am glad Kristina had this idea, because it pushed me to take out and wear my bangles...  I wore this outfit - it's an exact repetition, so I didn't take pictures.  And here is the arm Party! I bought the six striped bangles during my trip to Corsica, 20 years ago. They are six like the letters that compose my name.The brown one is from a store in Buffalo. The thin one is even older, it's about 25 years old! A classmate gave me a bunch of them (it was the 80's and Madonna was just starting to get famous) and I somehow managed to keep this one through the years. Now I want to start wearing all the other bangles I have, too!
